BMD awarded eighth bridge project for Main Roads Western Australia
BMD Constructions has successfully secured the Bow River Bridge Upgrade project located in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. The project involves replacing the existing single lane bridge with a two lane concrete bridge which will improve safety for road users and enhance flood resistance of the Great Northern Highway between Broome and Wyndham. In addition to the bridge construction, BMD’s scope of works will involve completing approximately 2.3 kilometres of associated road approaches and a sealed parking bay. In line with BMD’s commitment to Indigenous engagement, the project team will seek to proactively engage the land’s Traditional Custodians and local communities to complete the project. The project will contribute to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander participation through the engagement of subcontractors, suppliers, labour hire and the community. The project, which is expected to be completed by the end of 2018, builds on BMD’s bridge construction capability which has seen the completion of seven bridge projects for repeat client, Main Roads Western Australia.
