BMD awarded main civil work contract for the Woolgoolga to Ballina Pacific Highway upgrade
The Australian and NSW governments are jointly funding the $4.36 billion Woolgoolga to Ballina Pacific Highway upgrade. Roads and Maritime Services Pacific Highway Project Office and Pacific Complete are working together to deliver the 155 kilometre upgrade. BMD Constructions has been awarded the final main civil work contract for the Woolgoolga to Ballina Pacific Highway upgrade on the north coast of New South Wales. This involves upgrading a 14.9 kilometre section of the Pacific Highway to dual carriageway between Iluka Road and Devils Pulpit. This work will create about 120 jobs during construction and in line with BMD’s commitment to support the community, the project team will engage locally based suppliers and owner operators. The award of the main civil work contract is the third contract BMD Constructions is delivering on the Woolgoolga to Ballina Pacific Highway upgrade. BMD is also delivering the bridge building contract between Tucabia and Shark Creek, as well as the temporary and permanent diversion lanes between Maclean and Devils Pulpit. BMD Constructions is proud to contribute to Australia’s largest regional infrastructure project that will deliver a safer link in the national road network with reduced travel times and improved transport efficiency. BMD Constructions will continue to work collaboratively with Roads and Maritime Services, Pacific Complete and other contractors to deliver this part of the Woolgoolga to Ballina Pacific Highway upgrade.
