BMD Constructions awarded Thompsons Road Upgrade – Stage 1 in Victoria

BMD Constructions has recently been awarded our first foray into the level crossing removal space in Victoria with the Thompsons Road Upgrade Stage 1 for VicRoads. BMD Constructions’ design and construct contract involves the removal of the level crossing on the Cranbourne railway line in Lyndhurst with a six lane bridge to be built over the railway line. This will also include and a 2 kilometre road duplication along Thompsons Road from Marriott Boulevard to the South Gippsland Highway. New paths and improved lighting for pedestrians and cyclists will also be constructed, which will improve connection to and from the Merinda Park train station. The removal of the level crossing will reduce congestion, increase safety and improve public transport for Victorian commuters.Construction of the Thompsons Road Upgrade Stage 1 is expected to commence by the end of the year and will be completed late 2018.
