BMD Constructions Northern Region reach first milestone for 2017
BMD Constructions Northern Region achieved their first milestone on the Bruce Highway Boundary Road Interchange project in early 2017 by completing the installation of all 68 bridge girders for the new six-lane bridge over the Bruce Highway at Narangba, north of Brisbane. The installation of the bridge girders was undertaken at night, given the new bridge structure crosses the Bruce Highway and impacts to traffic must be kept at a minimum. The last of the girders were installed on Wednesday 4 January 2017, with the crew achieving a PB of seven girders installed in just over five hours. This is a fantastic achievement for the project team, and we are looking forward to seeing the rest of this bridge superstructure progress over the coming months. BMD Constructions is delivering works on behalf of Queensland’s Department of Transport and Main Roads with the construction contract being administered by GHD.
