BMD continues to upskill labour force in partnership with Civil Train

At BMD, our business is our people. We pride ourselves on our family culture which sees our people build long-term careers with us. BMD is committed to hiring and developing the industry’s best. Upskilling our labour force is vital to increase quality and efficiency, as well as reduce risk across our business. Together with Civil Train, BMD has enrolled 20 of our South Australian workforce in traineeships. Construction Manager Tim Bishop said the trainees are undertaking civil construction road, pipe laying and supervision certificates. “We place a high priority on the integration between on-the-job training by our industry leading supervisors and off-the-job training provided by Civil Train. “A well trained and leading workforce allows us to meet our clients’ requirements across a diverse range of important infrastructure upgrades in South Australia,” Tim said. Through training initiatives, BMD sees the importance in promoting teamwork and spurring innovative thinking. By committing to upskilling our labour force, the result is a team who look after themselves, their workmates, the community and everyone who comes into BMD’s care.
