BMD Group and PowerArts celebrate at the Helpmann Awards

The BMD Group and PowerArts celebrated the award of several Helpmann Awards for ‘Legally Blonde the Musical’ and ‘A Funny Thing Happened on the way to the Forum’ on 29 July 2013. The Helpmann Awards recognise distinguished artistic achievement and excellence across the major disciplines of Australia’s live performance industry. ‘Legally Blonde the Musical’ received a total of five awards including the ‘Best Musical’ and the ‘Best Female Actor in a Musical’ for Lucy Durack’s memorable performance. ‘A Funny Thing Happened on the way to the Forum’ received an award for the ‘Best Male Actor in a Musical’ for the famous Geoffrey Rush. PowerArts is an investment and production company with a focus on new and exciting performing arts projects, and is driven by the experience of the Power siblings; Hayley Johnson, Dare Power and Scott Power who are also part of BMD Group. ______________________________________________________________________________
