BMD Group’s Integrated Offering Delivers Certainty for Communities

BMD Group is proud to announce their property development business Urbex, has recently secured a partnership to sponsor the Darwin Buffaloes AFLNT club in the premier league competition. The Darwin Buffaloes have recently relocated to Palmerston and Urbex’s sponsorship will assist the club to maintain an active involvement in the local community particularly with Indigenous youth. Urbex is an innovator in residential development, undertaking wholly-owned projects and joint ventures in urban developments of varying scale and size. Urbex creates communities that reflect excellence in planning and urban design. Their focus is on achieving best practice in project development, environmentally sensitive design, community integration and development management. Urbex has established a strong presence in Darwin with Johnston Ridge and Zuccoli projects currently in construction. BMD Group continues its commitment to working with local communities by supporting the Indigenous Oodgeroo Unit at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) in Brisbane. The Unit was created to make a positive contribution towards closing the gap in Indigenous Australian participation rates for higher education. Through an innovative arrangement with QUT, there is a new opportunity to provide Indigenous Australian students with a tangible experience of their future in the science and maths related professions through the Indigenous Australian Science and Infrastructure Development (SID) Winter School. The SID Winter School is a fully-supervised and funded four day, residential program designed to inspire Indigenous Queenslanders in years 10 and 11 to consider higher education studies that can lead to career pathways in: biological sciences, earth sciences, environmental sciences, chemistry, Information Technology (IT), urban development, urban planning and stakeholder engagement. Furthermore, BMD is also supporting Former Origin Greats (FOGS) and their 2014 Indigenous Employment Careers Expo. BMD has extensive experience working in regional and remote areas and within Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, and our policies, plans, initiatives and training programs reflect our commitment to equal opportunities.
