BMD Industrial start 2016 with the award of three projects in South East Queensland

BMD Industrial have successfully kicked off 2016 with the commencement of three South East Queensland projects including the Mount Crosby Eastbank Capacity upgrade for Seqwater, and the Toowoomba Sewerage Network Enabling project and Gowrie Mountain Water Supply Network upgrade for Toowoomba Regional Council. The award of the Eastbank (Mount Crosby) Water Treatment Plant upgrade is an outstanding step into the current highly competitive Brisbane market. This project builds on Industrial’s extensive water experience with one of Australia’s largest water businesses. The project involves upgrading the chemical storage facilities with new large stainless steel bunded tanks to ensure that adequate chemical storage is available during flood and dirty water events. The project team have commenced work on procurement and initial project setup, with site establishment due in the coming weeks, and completion expected in early 2017. Heading west from Brisbane, the $7 million Toowoomba Sewerage Network Enabling project consists of constructing four large sewerage pumping station sites with additional storage. BMD Industrial assisted Toowoomba Regional Council with an innovative alternative to the extra storage requirements for the sites in order to save costs. The team established on site in late January on the western outskirts of Toowoomba at Troy’s Road and nearby, at Draper Road. The Toowoomba Sewerage Network Enabling project is expected to take six months and will be completed by late June 2016. BMD Industrial have been recently awarded a second job with Toowoomba Regional Council. The Water Supply Network upgrade involves the construction of three concrete reservoirs and associated pipework on top of Gowrie Mountain. The award of these projects in such a highly competitive market demonstrates BMD’s strength in water infrastructure, not only in Queensland but nationally. Well done to the team for an excellent start to 2016.
