BMD secures presence in Central Queensland

BMD secures a strong presence in the Central Queensland market with the award of key projects and the progress of current jobs, supported by the establishment of strategically located regional offices. BMD recently opened an office in Emerald in March 2013 representing BMD’s strong commitment to the region, with local BMD staff now on hand to meet clients’ needs. The new office is conveniently located in the heart of Emerald and services projects within the Emerald, Blackwater, Clermont, Springsure, Galilee and Bowen Basin area. BMD Constructions recently commenced work on the new Lilyvale Passing Loop project in early May, marking a key milestone in the implementation of a long term strategy to service the Central Queensland market. The contract followed the establishment of the Emerald office and confirms our capability to work within these regional areas. Our capability also continues to be demonstrated through the progression of the Wiggins Island Packages and Mackay Whitsunday West Package, along with works at the Caval Ridge, and Grosvenor mines. Notably, the Leichhardt and Dawson Highway Fitzroy Region Repair Works is fast approaching completion and on track for the June completion date. The $67 million project is part of ‘Operation Queensland’ to improve flood affected roads. Our civil engineering division, BMD Consulting secured its presence in the Emerald market late last year, with the award of various design packages associated with the airport, development and resources and energy sectors, illustrating BMD’s increased focus on this fast growing and exciting market sector. As part of the commitment to the regional communities, BMD sponsors various community initiatives including football clubs, race days and local industry associations. Our strengthened presence in Central Queensland positions the business to realise future opportunities as they emerge. BMD current projects in Central Queensland include:
