Port Pirie Waste Transfer Station Opens

The $3.5 million Port Pirie Waste Transfer Station was officially opened to the public by Mr Vanstone on 14 June 2013. Replacing the existing land fill operation, this new facility provides an improved service to the community which gives the public an option to unload residential waste in a fully enclosed facility. BMD Constructions was engaged to design and construct the waste transfer station which included extensive earthworks, rehabilitation of existing site, access roads, weighbridge and office, site office, amenities and a 3,500m² structural steel shed to unload and store domestic and commercial waste before being taken off site for disposal. For more information on the Port Pirie Waste Transfer Station project, please visit the Port Pirie Regional Council website. _____________________________________________________________________________
