PrimeBMD celebrate Manila office blessing

BMD’s international business, PrimeBMD celebrated the blessing and official opening of our office in Manila on 23 August. The traditional blessing ceremony is an important part of business in the Philippines and involved reciting ritual prayers to request good luck and success for the organisation. The ceremony also involved presentations by Group Executive Director – Operations, Scott Power and PrimeBMD CEO, Jeff Gallus, as well as a ribbon cutting, office tour and celebratory meal. Earlier this year, key longstanding BMD employees relocated to Manilla to establish our office and begin the formal process required to commence contracting in the Philippines. The team are settling in well and currently sourcing a range of opportunities including public-private partnership projects in conjunction with local partners, foreign aid infrastructure projects, and privately funded infrastructure developments. PrimeBMD has also embarked on our first project in the Philippines, the early contractor involvement contract for the construction of the USD$50 million Berth 7 at the Manila International Container Terminal (MICT) for client International Container Terminal Services Inc. (ICTSI). The award of this project builds upon the success achieved on the Victoria International Container Terminal project at Webb Dock in Melbourne and provides the opportunity to demonstrate our full capability in the region. BMD’s existing capabilities are well placed to service the Philippines, one of the fastest growing regions in Southeast Asia, and PrimeBMD looks forward to delivering best-for-project outcomes for new and existing international clients.
