Grocon awarded BMD Urban and JMac Constructions a design and construct package of work to build the infrastructure required for the athletesÍ village. The project site spanned 35 hectares, radiating out from the 7 hectare central park and Village Heart. The Village Heart contains a 200 metre long, three dimensional double helix rolled steel arbour, and a one of a kind resin infused fibre composite disc structure with a smart lighting backlit water feature. Following the completion of the Commonwealth Games, the area will from the key residential, commercial and retail part of the Gold Coast Health and Knowledge Precinct.
